Smartisan R1 comes with 1TB of internal storage and Quick Charge 4+ charger

Smartisan is hardly a recognizable name in the industry, but its R1 isn't your everyday smartphone - it's a record-breaking flagship. It has top-notch specs and an amount of memory no other device in the market can match.

The key selling point of the Smartisan R1 is its internal storage. The most expensive version ships with a whopping 1TB UFS 2.1 internal storage but that's not all. The rest of the hardware is quite decent too - Snapdragon 845 behind the wheel, 6GB of RAM for the 64GB and 128GB models and 8GB RAM for the top-end configurations with 128GB and 1TB storage.

The R1 packs 3D glass on the back and grade 7 aluminum frame while the front panel features a 6.17-inch pressure-sensitive display with 1080 x 2424 pixel resolution (18.7:9 aspect ratio), protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The display itself offers 1500:1 contrast and 96% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

The notch on the front is rather small, as opposed to the popular notch design, and accommodates the 24MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture along with the earpiece. The main camera sensors on the back are 12MP Sony IMX363 with f/1.8 aperture aided by 4-axis OIS and a 20MP IMX350 unit with f/1.75 lens.

The Smartisan R1 supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+, but unlike the other phones released with the tech so far, this one actually comes with a Quick Charge 4+ charger inside the box for filling up the 3,600 mAh battery.

The device will be available in Pure White and Carbon Black and you've probably already guessed, the top-tier version's price is rather hefty.
