T-Mobile is targeting a new demographic. In its latest press release, T-Mobile is introducing new rates for anyone who is 55 years of age or older. Qualified customers can get one line of T-Mobile ONE (with all the same perks and features as the standard ONE) for $50 per month or two lines for $60 per month. Taxes and Fees included when you set up auto pay.
T-Mobile realizes that the older crowd is increasingly seeing new smartphone owners. The #Unlimited55 plan draws this demographic of people toward T-Mobile where they can get a deal on service.
Of course, T-Mobile being T-Mobile couldn’t pass up the opportunity to point out AT&T’s method of doing things: AT&T’s Senior plan, which T-Mobile cites only offers outdated minute-based plans and no data. Though, AT&T has since taken down its Senior Plan details.
T-Mobile also cited that 81% of Americans on post-paid plans are on either AT&T or Verizon while only 8% of this same demographic is with T-Mobile. “That’s a LOT of people being taken advantage of by the Duopoly—and a lot of people who can benefit from the Un-carrier.” – John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile.
